Lanzado originalmente en 1980 por Columbia records «Cultösaurus Erectus» es el cachondo título del séptimo trabajo de estudio de la banda estadounidense Blue Öyster Cult. Producido por el gran Martin Birch (Fleetwood Mac, Gary Moore, Whitesnake) contiene 9 canciones compuestas por el quinteto integrado por Eric Bloom (guitarra, teclados, voz), Albert Bouchard (batería), Buck Dharma (guitarra, voz), Joe Bouchard (bajo) y Allen Lanier (teclados, guitarra). Reeditado en CD en 2003 por Columbia.
Cultosaurus Erectus by Blue Oyster Cult, released 1 January 2018, includes the following tracks: «Divine Wind», «The Marshall Plan», «Fallen Angels», «Unknown Tongue» and more. This version of Cultosaurus Erectus comes as a 1xCD.
Blue Öyster Cult’s eighth album Fire of Unknown Origin includes their Top 40 hit «Burnin’ for You» (#1 on Billboard’s Album Rock Tracks chart). They brought back their successful writers team, including musician Patti Smith and dark-fantasy writer Michael Moorcock. «Veteran of Psychic Wars” can be placed among Cult’s best work, both in length as consistency. It would be the final studio album with the band’s original line-up for seven years. In many ways, Fire of Unknown Origin was the end of an era for the band, as they would struggle to find solid footing with critics and radio over the next several years. But this remains a incredible piece from the golden era.
