Edición limitada a 1.500 unidades numeradas individualmente en vinilo azul de 180 gramos con carpeta desplegable de «Touch The Sky», décimo trabajo de estudio de la vocalista, pianista y compositora estadounidense procedente de Nueva York Carole King. lanzado originalmente en 1979 su sonido con tintes country es mucho más terrenal que los anteriores «Simple Things» y «Welcome Home», con la voz de Carole más contemplativa y melancólica, sin duda debido a la muerte de su tercera pareja Rick Evers. La pérdida personal se percibe con mayor intensidad en la canción «Dreamlike a Wander» y aún así, el sentimiento general del álbum es optimista. Publicado por Music On Vinyl en Junio del 2023.
Originally released in 1979, the country-tinged sound is much earthier than ”Simple Things” and ”Welcome Home”. Carole King is more contemplative in voice and melancholic, no doubt due to the death of her third husband, Rick Evers. The personal loss is best felt in the song «Dreamlike I Wander».
That being said, the overall feeling of the album remains optimistic. «Walk With Me», «Move Lightly,» «Passing of the Days» and «Eagle» can be described as personal pep-talks. “Touch The Sky” was co-produced by multi-award winning Mark Hallman.
Originally released in 2001 and is now finally available on vinyl for the first time. The album features a variety of well-known musicians like Babyface, Steven Tyler, Celine Dion, Wynton Marsalis and K.D. Lang. King’s distinctive piano and heartfelt vocals belt out tunes with spare accompaniment.
