Publicado en 2019 por Omnivore Recordings «New Songs For The 20th Century» es el título de éste álbum grabado por Chris Stamey junto a The Modrec Orchestra. Una extensa colección de 27 canciones en doble CD, escritas y arregladas bajo la influencia del jazz interpretadas por distintos vocalistas favoritos de Stamey. La leyenda del jazz Nnenna Freelon, iconos pop como Marshall Crenshaw, Don Dixon o Caitlin Cary (Whiskeytown) o prometedoras figuras como Millie McGuire, Kirsten Lambert o Faith Jones son algunos colaboradores en éste exquisito trabajo. Respaldados por la Modrec Orchestra (nombrada por Modern Recording, la base de estudio de Stamey en Chappel Hill) que incluye a virtuosos músicos como Bill Frisell, Nels Cline de Wilco o Matt Douglas de The Mountain Goats.
