Reeditado por Music On CD el pasado 18 de Noviembre de 2022 «Brutal Youth» es el título de éste álbum de estudio del músico y compositor inglés Elvis Costello. 8 años después de «Blood and Chocolate» Costello se volvía a colgar guitarras eléctricas y a escribir canciones de rock’n’roll y elegante power pop, dándole a las melodías ruidosas y buena muestra de ello son composiciones como la inicial «Pony St.», «13 Steps Lead Down» o «Just About Glad». Producido por Mitchell Froom (Los Lobos, Richard Thompson) y el propio Costello, cuenta con la participación de Pete y Bruce Thomas, Steve Nieve y Nick Lowe. Lanzado originalmente en 1994 por Warner Records.

‘Brutal Youth’ (1994) is the first album since ‘Blood And Chocolate’ (1986) Costello recorded with the Attractions with Nick Lowe featuring on half of the album. Elvis picked up an electric guitar and began writing rock n’ roll songs again. The result, ‘Brutal Youth’, an impressive collection of rock and pop that that proves that Costello hadn’t forgotten how to write a loud tune and to being one of the greatest lyricists in rock music.
