Publicado en 1983 por Shrapnel Records «Heavy Metal Maniac» es el título del álbum debut de la banda canadiense formada en Ottawa Exciter. Producido por John Belrose (Jade) contiene las 9 canciones de la grabación original compuestas por el trío integrado por Dan Beehler (batería, voz), John Ricci (guitarra) y Allan Johnson (bajo). Reeditado en 2005 por Megaforce Records incluye dos temas extras y entrevistas a los miembros de la formación.
