Reeditado por Music On Vinyl en Febrero de 2020 ‘Statement’ es el título del segundo álbum de estudio del vocalista jamaicano Ini Kamoze. Lanzado originalmente el mismo año de su debut con ‘Pirate’ (1984), ‘Statement’ fue producido por el baterista Sly Dunbar y el bajista y guitarrista Robbie Shakespeare, también participantes como músico de estudio en el disco. Ritmos pegadizos y versátiles junto a la impresionante voz de Ini en 8 canciones que incluye éxitos del reggae como ‘Babylon, Babylon’ o ‘Taxi For Me’. Edición en vinilo de 180 gramos.

Jamaican reggae artist Ini Kamoze released his second album Statement in 1984 as a follow-up to his excellent self-titled debut LP. With the production skills by Sly & Robbie they made a great and versatile record, that can be considered among his best albums. The catchy rhythms and Ini’s impressive vocal work can be heard on songs like “Babylon, Babylon” and “Taxi For Me”. This is an album that fits in every record collection.

All the material on Ini Kamoze’s Pirate is delivered at an assuredly consistent mid-tempo / head-noddin’ pace, and that – along with Kamoze’s distinctive mantric-like voice – becomes quite trance-inducing over the course of an entire album.
