Publicado en el año 1996 por Capitol Records «Static Prevails» es el título del segundo trabajo de estudio de la banda estadounidense de rock alternativo procedente de Arizona Jimmy Eat World. Coproducido por Wes Kidd (The Damnwells, Local H), Mark Trombino (Rocket From The Crypt, The Living End) y el propio cuarteto contiene 12 canciones, entre ellas el single «Rockstar» (también incluye pista de vídeo del mismo).
