Reeditado por Music On CD en 2022, álbum debut de Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers. Nacido en Natick, Massachussetts, Richman comenzó su carrera musical a mediados de los años 60 y estando en Boston formó The Modern Lovers. Ya en 1975 Jonathan se muda a California y allí rearma a los Lovers, con el baterista original David Robinson, el ex-bajista de The Rubinoos Greg Keranen y Leroy Radcliffe a la guitarra. A partir de ahí los álbumes producidos por el nuevo grupo encontraron a Richman alejándose del rock más eléctrico y virando hacia texturas acústicas más suaves, con un fuerte arraigo en el rock’n’roll de los años 50. «Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers» fue lanzado originalmente en Mayo del 1976 y contiene 11 canciones mas cuatro temas extra incluídos en ésta edición.

Born in Natick, Massachusetts, singer, songwriter and guitarist Jonathan Richman began playing music and writing his own songs in the mid 60s. While in Boston, Richman formed the Modern Lovers, a proto-punk garage rock band. In 1975, Richman moved to California to record as a solo singer/songwriter. In January 1976, Richman put together a new version of the Modern Lovers, which included original Modern Lovers drummer, David Robinson, along with former Rubinoos bassist Greg ‘Curly’ Keranen and Leroy Radcliffe on guitar.
