Publicado en 2017 por Megaforce Records «Shade»  es el título del sexto trabajo de estudio de la banda estadounidense formada en Nueva York Living Colour. 8 años después de quinta referencia discográfica «The Chains in the Doorway» regresaba el grupo integrado por Vernon Reid, Corey Glover, Will Callhoun y Doug Wimbish con 13 nuevas canciones y su dinámica y enérgica fusión de blues, rock, metal, rap y funk abordando temas raciales y políticos en composiciones incisivas e incluyendo una versión de «Inner City Blues» de Marvin Gaye.

While early reports have pegged Living Colour’s upcoming sixth studio release, ‘Shade’, as a Blues-based record it has to be clear that this is not an effort in the vein of what the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton or Gregg Allman have done with their similar experiments that included covers of genre classics and new material that sounded classic. Rather, what Living Colour – one of the most underrated and underappreciated Rock bands of the past 30 years – has done is taken the Blues as a jumping point to the lands of Rock, Rap, Funk, Hip-hop, R&B, and even Country and Western.
