Publicado el 8 de Mayo del 2020 por Heavenly Recordings «Straight Songs of Sorrow» es el título del último disco de estudio grabado por el músico y compositor norteamericano Mark Lanegan. «Straight Songs of Sorrow» combina elementos musicales de los primeros álbumes de Lanegan con composiciones sintetizadas de trabajos posteriores. Colaboraciones habituales como las de Jack Irons (Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers), Greg Dulli (The Afghan Whigs), Mark Morton (Lamb of God), Dylan Carlson, Warren Ellis (Bad Seeds) o John Paul Jones de Led Zeppelin le dan al disco el enfoque que quiere Lanegan, donde cada composición hace referencia a algún episodio o persona específica de su vida, como explica en su autobiografía. Producido por Alain Johannes de Eleven y el propio Lanegan, contiene 15 canciones.

‘Straight Songs Of Sorrow’ combines musical trace elements from early Mark Lanegan albums with the synthesized constructs of later work. The meditative acoustic guitar fingerpicking – provided by Lamb Of God’s Mark Morton – on ‘Apples From A Tree’ and ‘Hanging On (For DRC)’ echo 1994’s ‘Whiskey For The Holy Ghost’.

Blues Funeral by Mark -Band- Lanegan, released 2 February 2012, includes the following tracks: «Gray Goes Black», «Riot In My House» and more.
