Publicado en el año 2011 por Reprise Records «The Hunter» es el título del quinto trabajo de estudio de la banda estadounidense procedente de Atlanta Mastodon. Producido por Mike Elizondo (Avenged Sevenfold, Fiona Apple) contiene 13 canciones del cuarteto integrado por Troy Sanders (voz, bajo), Brann Dailor (voz, batería, percusión), Brent Hinds (voz, guitarra) y Bill Kelliher (guitarra). Incluye la colaboración del vocalista de Neurosis en el tema «Spectrelight».
