«In Utero» fue el último trabajo de estudio de la banda formada en Seattle Nirvana. Tras el éxito mundial que supuso «Nevermind» (1991), el grupo liderado por Kurt Cobain (voz, guitarra), Krist Novoselic (bajo) y Dave Grohl (batería), regresaba en 1993 con 12 nuevas canciones. Intentando que las composiciones sonasen más rudas y sucias que en su anterior disco, la producción corrió a cargo de Steve Albini (Helmet, Cheap Trick, Shellac) y Scott Litt (The Replacements, R.E.M.). Pero a pesar del barro, consiguieron crear otra gran obra y singles de éxito como «Rape me» o «Heart shaped box». Reedición en Cd del año 2013.
