Publicado en 2007, “The Collection” resume en 18 canciones la carrera de la banda británica de pop y rock alternativo Ocean Colour Scene. Imposible quedarse impasible ante canciones como “The riverboat song” o “The day we caught the train”.

El cuarto álbum Ocean Color Scene fue una ligera desviación de los dos álbumes anteriores, con un sonido más reflexivo, conmovedor y pastoral, así como un sesgo más político, aunque con un sesgo psicodélico de finales de los 60, que recuerda a The Byrds, Small Faces o Beatles del período posterior.

Todo el álbum aún conserva el estilo melódico característico de la banda, con un sonido rico y refinado que le da al material un toque contemporáneo, evitando las trampas de depender de un enfoque meramente nostálgico o “ retro ”. ¡Alucinante final instrumental de I Am the News …!
