With Johnny Burnette’s ‘Baby Blue Eyes’ this album has a killer opening track and is the beginning of over 35 minutes of red hot Rockabilly ‘n Roll. Looking back nowadays on 1981’s “Gonna Ball”, it seems like a minor masterpiece and probably the Stray Cats’ finest album. The album ends with ‘Crazy Mixed Up Kids’, a Psychobilly instrumental workout par excellence. The Cats are captured diggin’ deep into early Rock & Roll and even pre-Rock & Roll Roots music and far beyond the boundaries of Rockabilly in the early ’80’s.
