Reeditado por Music On CD en Noviembre del 2019 ‘Thirteen’ es el título del cuarto álbum de estudio de los escoceses Teenage Fanclub. Llevando el nombre de una de las canciones más icónicas de la historia del power pop como es ‘Thirteen’ de Big Star, la epopeya final con ‘Gene Clark’ que se acerca al ‘Down By The River’ de Neil Young y el espíritu de Alex Chilton sobrevolando las trece canciones del disco, Teenage Fanclub volvían a alcanzar otra cima. Publicado originalmente en 1993 por Creation Records.

‘Songs From Northern Britain’ marked Teenage Fanclub’s dropping of the distortion and picking up the pop. It’s an album of shimmering beauty, from the jangling guitars and the beautiful harmonies. Musically, the album is more arranged than their previous five albums and delves further into a folky, acoustic sound that fleshes out their Big Star fascination with some sweet harmonies à la the Byrds. From start to finish this album is packed with pop perfection that makes your hairs stand on end and your spine tingle. “Start Again”, “Ain’t That Enough”, “I Don’t Want Control Of You”, “Your Love Is The Place Where I Come From» are just a handful of tracks that justify to entitle the album as their masterpiece.
