Publicado en el año 2005, los británicos The Magic Numbers debutan con éste primer trabajo homónimo. 12 canciones producidas por Craig Silvey (The Coral, The Horrors) y Romeo Stodart, voz, guitarra, piano y principal compositor de la banda. La pareja de hermanos nos envuelven en melodías fascinantes y ritmos pegadizos, como en el caso de los singles “Forever lost” o “Love me like you”. Cosecharon grandes críticas con éste disco, siendo nominados al mejor álbum en los premios Mercury Prize británicos de ése año. La última referencia de The Magic Numbers data del 2018 con “Outsiders”.

The album, though instantly recognizable as a Magic Numbers record in its melodies, begins with a more raucous punch sonically. The confidence is more evident than ever before, noticeable immediately in the more bluesy, gnarly guitar sound. Songs like ‘The Keeper’, even having a distinct T. Rex feel.
