El próximo 30 de Abril de 2021 Music On CD reedita «Starsailor» sexto trabajo de estudio del músico y compositor americano Tim Buckley. «Starsailor» es una culminación de Buckley hacia los diferentes estilos del jazz, un álbum impresionante de increíble originalidad y creatividad. Buck Gardner de los Mothers of Invention de Frank Zappa aparece como colaborador aportando la trompeta en el disco. Canciones como la propia ‘Starsailor’ o ‘Jungle Fire’ muestran la versatilidad vocal de Tim o ‘Song To Siren’, tema que ha sido reinterpretada por múltiples grupos y artistas como John Frusciante (RHCP) o This Mortal Coil. Publicado originalmente en 1970 y producido por Buckley (padre de Jeff, sí), parte dela extravagancia del folk psicodélico y el rock experimental de los 70 se encuentra en éste álbum.
‘Starsailor’ is the sixth studio album by Tim Buckley (yes, the father of Jeff Buckley) and arguably his artistic pinnacle. This is the culmination of Tim’s journey into the stylings of jazz. A breathtaking album of incredible originality and creativity. Buck Gardner, from Frank Zappa’s classic Mothers Of Invention plays amazing trumpet parts on this album. All the tracks are unique in their own way and deserve praise. Songs like the title track and «Jungle Fire» among others show his vocal versatility like never before with his legendary 5 plus octave range. «Song To The Siren» has been covered by a variety of artists, most notably by This Mortal Coil and John Frusciante. Although hardly appreciated in 1970, this is one of the truly great modern recordings.
